The Happiness You Give
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012
What can I say about you,
And the happiness you give.
You've taught me so many things,
Like being able to forgive.
You've taught me how to love,
And this I can't thank enough.
Even more important of that,
That you taught me to love myself.
You've taught me people are kind,
Yet some can be quite mean,
To look past the outer shell,
Child, adult or teen.
You've taught me do the things,
That I never would before.
Life is too short to hold off,
It's time to go out and explore.
You've taught me to believe in myself,
That I can do anything I want.
If I put my mind to it,
I can accomplish anything I want.
What else can I say,
About everything you've taught?
You've taught me about life's happiness,
And this will not be forgot.
So from the bottom of my heart,
Thank you for being you.
And teaching me everything you know,
And also how to stay true.
